Our client provides dedicated distribution, design and installation for steel floor decking systems throughout the UK and Europe and have worked on prestigious projects including Stratford City Shopping Centre (London Olympic Park), the O2 Arena London and currently working on the Kings Avenue Shopping Mall in Paphos, Cyprus.

A position has become available for a Senior Contracts/Construction Manager based at the UK Headquarters in Chepstow, Monmouthshire.

The successful candidate will report to the Managing Director and have come from the construction industry, have experience of contract preparation, contract compliance and construction management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all current projects throughout the UK


• Supervision of site management teams


• Ensure staff have received the appropriate training and forward planning training


• Liaise with other departments (e.g. Quantity Surveyors, sales team, etc.)


• Management of sub-contractors, ensuring works are completed on time in accordance with HSEQ and within cost budgets allocated


• Produce sub-contract orders and authorise relevant payments

Qualifications and experience

• Educated to degree level in a construction related discipline (may consider Diploma level education coupled with relevant practical experience)


• Substantial contracts and construction management experience


• Have a proven background and understanding of construction methods, preferably steel decking and concrete


• Hold relevant safety qualifications


• Have a detailed understanding of cost control, budget management and project completion in allocated time periods


• Be a clear communicator and influencer with both clients and workforce


• Have an understanding of HSEQ and ‘standards’ requirements with the ability to produce Health & Safety reports and quality audits

Other

• The role will involve a large amount of travel throughout the UK and may involve working long hours


• The incumbent will be a positive thinker and be prepared to take a hands on approach to daily problems
