Human Resources Officer - SSAFA - London

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced generalist HR Officer in the People & Organisational Development team at SSAFA, the UK’s oldest national tri-service military charity.

As part of our team you will be responsible for providing a front-line, comprehensive HR service to our employees and managers, on a range of HR matters, across the full employee life-cycle. This will include changes to pay and conditions of service for new, existing and leaving employees.


You will need to be able to demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, with the ability to spot anomalies and resolve these before implementing changes, whilst working at a steady pace to meet the payroll deadline. You will have had experience of a range of HR transactions, processes and a good working knowledge of current employment legislation.


You will have an understanding of how to process pay changes related to various employee related matters such as maternity, holidays, sickness, flexible working arrangements, changing T&Cs, benefits, etc. You will have excellent written and communication skills, with the ability to deliver information clearly and concisely. You will be a team player with the ability to be flexible according to priorities and take satisfaction from delivering a professional service.


This is an exciting opportunity for you to expand your HR experience and knowledge, working alongside other HR specialists and the Learning & Development team.
