Area Manager - CESSAC - South East

The charity has centres in the UK, Cyprus, Germany and the Falklands and hopes to expand it’s UK footprint.

We have an exciting opportunity for a suitable Retail/Catering/Hospitality professional to lead the team that are managing the charitable cafes in Blandford, Bovington, and Worthy Down camps, while one in Colchester opens this summer.

We are looking for someone with a hands on approach, plenty of enthusiasm to develop the charity and a willingness to work flexibly to meet the needs of the business.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience of working within a customer facing organisation, with a proven track record for maximising any surplus.

Job Purpose

To develop and manage the day to day operations of the UK based CESSAC Centres (currently 4) ensuring they operate to their full potential.

To actively maintain and build relationships with key military personnel to promote the current CESSAC work and explore new opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Provide leadership, training, development and performance management to UK Site Managers.

Recruitment, Induction and Mentoring of all UK staff.

Review trading hours, product range, retail selling price to maximise the potential at each location.

Actively Promote and Advertise the CESSAC Centres, exploring Social Media.

Actively build relationships with key stakeholders on the military sites.

Produce a detailed budget across all categories and monitor performance.

Build a business case for new opportunities and be responsible for the opening of any new business in the UK.

Experience

Experience of working in a customer focused environment. E.g. Retail/Catering/Hospitality.

Experience of Recruiting and Developing Staff, including line management.

Skills and Abilities

Proven leadership and people management/motivational skills.

Ability to use industry standard IT systems proficiently (e.g. Microsoft Office, Email, Internet, etc.).

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Self Starter able to work on own initiative.

Good organisational, time management and analytical skills.

The ability to build and maintain key stakeholder relationships.

This role involves regular travel and candidates must hold a full valid driving licence and should live, within reasonable commuting distance of each UK location listed.

Meeting the HMG Baseline Personnel Security standard and supplying 3 suitable references will be required for the role.
