Lead Infrastructure Engineer - AECOM - Leeds

AECOM are recruiting for Lead Civil/Infrastructure Engineer to join our team based in Leeds. The person appointed will play a key role in the design and construction of major structural schemes. This role will require the ability to manage the technical delivery of multi-disciplinary schemes, necessitating a background ideally in structural design, but civil engineering and associated fields may also be relevant. Chartership with a relevant professional body would also be advantageous.

To be based in Manchester office and work closely with other teams within our Business Unit located in offices in Leeds and Warrington. The Business Unit is a highly multi-disciplinary comprising civil/structural/ mechanical and electrical /process/highway engineers , architects , project managers and surveyors. The market sectors range from industrial and logistics , airports , power and transmission, waste , energy from waste , oil and gas, infrastructure development and Government Agency work. Our key projects include;


Manchester & Stansted Airport Expansions


National Grid Frameworks


Media City and other Mixed Use Developments for Peel Holdings


Energy from Waste Plants at Buckinghamshire and Ferrybridge Yorkshire


Foreign & Commonwealth Office Framework


New Wylfa Power Station Development


Homes & Communities Multi-disciplinary Framework and Stockton Prison for Ministry of Justice.


The unit also currently work on overseas projects including South East Asia University , Cyprus University and various MOD Airfields.


Minimum Requirements


Chartered civil engineer with 8+ years experience


Excellent communication skills – written and spoken


Excellent knowledge and significant experience in the use of Windes software for drainage design


Knowledge and experience in the use of PDS or civils 3d for highway alignment design. Good working knowledge of the highway design standards.


Some knowledge of Network Rail design standards.


Experience of working on rail projects.


Good working knowledge of NEC contracts


Ability to write accurate and concise reports and letters in good English.


Ability to check and review design work and drawings.


Flexibility – types of projects, regional travel (north west/ north east).


Preferred Qualifications


Good civils 3D skills


Bid writing experience


Project management experience/ Interest in progressing to manage projects
